With the expansion brought about by increasingly strong leadership in the textile sector, Filpucci’s logistics problems continued to go unresolved and, indeed, were actually growing.
The machinery entrusted with the central part of the goods control process, created over 40 years earlier, was carrying a number of malfunctions, all extremely costly.
From machine stoppages that slowed the production process, to the failure to track packages and the goods they contained, which meant having to add and reship the missing quantities of certain orders.
Thus, maintaining high quality service to customers continued to become increasingly costly for the company: time losses and labour costs grew, while productivity fell year after year.
A solution had to be found at all costs.
PRODUCTIVITY INCREASE AND LOGISTICS COST REDUCTION WITH THE ROBOTIC CELL FOR PACKAGE SORTING
The customer’s request was as clear as it was important: to finally have complete product control while reducing logistics, maintenance and labour costs.
Starting from a careful analysis of the problems identified, a new fully customised solution was developed for them, which included, among various automations, a brand-new robotic cell capable of sorting and palletising packages to perfection.
The new robot receives, weighs and tracks the packages, checks them against the management system to obtain complete product traceability, then closes them with strapping tape, labels them and routes them to the shipping bays according to the delivery destination (Europe or Rest of the World).
By exploiting the robotic cell, the old machinery (a cause of high logistics costs) was retired, achieving a highly efficient package control and sorting system!
All of this in a very short time: from the moment of the order, only 5 months passed, with installation taking place just 3 weeks after project approval.

By introducing the innovative robotic cell and removing the old machinery, Filpucci immediately eliminated production delays and interventions due to malfunctions, obtaining both routine and extraordinary maintenance directly from the supplier!

with the robotic cell, the customer was able to save between €20,000 and €30,000 per year on labour, maintenance, errors and delays. They were also able to take advantage of the significant benefits from tax breaks for Industry 4.0 (up to 40% as tax credit), leveraging the clear advantages of technological innovation.
LOGISTICAL:
customisation of the robotic cell finally made it possible to optimise process speed, palletisation and transmission/control integration with the management system – and more. By replacing the bulky and obsolete machinery, storage space increased and workers’ effort was reduced, as they no longer need to manually arrange packages on pallets.
